GASOPHE 2012 Annual Meeting a Success!
The 2012 Georgia Society for Public Health Education Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the Georgia Public Health Associaton's Annual Meeting, was an excellent time for GASOPHE members to connect to one another and to reach out to prospective new members!

The conference was attended by over 450 public health professionals and associates on April 12-13, 2012 in the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Ravinia Hotel. GASOPHE co-sponsored the conference, and Pat Thomas, GASOPHE President, introduced Opening Plenary Session speaker Eric Linland, PHD, of the Frameworks Institute.
GASOPHE's Annual Meeting was attended by several members, both long-time and new, and the GASOPHE Slated Board for 2012 was approved and installed. This year's board includes Pat Thomas, President; Laura Bracci, President-Elect; Eryn Marchiolo, Secretary; Brandi Hightower, Treasurer; Derrick Gable, Past-President; Jennifer King, Communications; Amanda Ptashkin, Advocacy; Barbara Parks and Tarisha Cockrell, Membership; Susan Butler, Continuing Education; and Erica Sheldon, Student Liaison.
The meeting agenda included discussion of the GASOPHE Strategic Plan for 2011-12 and review of the updated GASOPHE Bylaws. More detailed information about the GASOPHE Annual Meeting will be provided to all members.
The GASOPHE booth at the conference attracted dozens of interested attendees who learned more about our organization and the benefits of GASOPHE membership.
